of <h1>Amendment to Foreign Trade Policy: Import of Rough Diamonds from C^ote d'Ivoire Prohibited Under UN Resolution 1643(2005).</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 and the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2004-2009, has issued amendments to the FTP as of June 11, 2007. A new provision has been added to Paragraph 2.1, prohibiting the import of rough diamonds from C^ote d'Ivoire in compliance with Paragraph 6 of the UN Security Council Resolution 1643(2005). This amendment is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
