of <h1>Commissioner of Customs in Mumbai appointed as adjudicating authority under Customs Act for Global Traders case.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has appointed the Commissioner of Customs (Import) at the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai as the common adjudicating authority. This appointment is made under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, to handle matters related to a show cause notice issued to M/s Global Traders and others. The notice, dated January 3rd and 4th, 2007, was issued by the Additional Director General of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Delhi Zonal Unit. This appointment allows the Mumbai Commissioner to exercise powers and perform duties of the Commissioner of Customs (Import) at New Customs House, Ballard Estate, Mumbai.
