of <h1>Commissioner of Central Excise, Goa, appointed as Special Adjudicator for DRI cases under Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has appointed the Commissioner of Central Excise, Goa, to serve as a Special Adjudicator for various cases initiated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). This appointment allows the Commissioner to exercise the powers and duties of the Commissioner of Customs, Port Import, Chennai. The adjudication pertains to a Show Cause Notice issued to a company and others, dated September 22, 2006, by the Additional Director General of DRI, Mumbai Zonal Unit. This action is authorized under sections of the Customs Act, 1962.
