of <h1>Amendment to Central Excise Act: EOUs and EPZs must align domestic sales with export goods per 1997-2002 policy.</h1> The Central Government has amended a previous notification under the Central Excise Act, 1944, concerning Export-Oriented Units (EOUs) and Export Processing Zone (EPZ) units. The amendment specifies that goods cleared for domestic sale must be similar to those exported or intended for export during the specified period as per the Export Import Policy from April 1, 1997, to March 31, 2002. This change is made in the public interest to ensure consistency between exported products and those sold domestically by these units.
