of <h1>Software Exporters Must Register with Councils per Amended Foreign Trade Policy Notification No. 51/2006</h1> Software exporters must register with the Electronic and Software Export Promotion Council as per the amended Foreign Trade Policy (2004-2009), effective from Notification No. 51/2006 dated March 5, 2007. An exclusive Services Export Promotion Council has been established to support specific service sectors, requiring exporters of 13 designated services to register with it. Other service exporters should register with the Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation. This amendment is issued under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is aimed at providing direction and encouragement to the services sector.
