of <h1>Government Amends Excise Notification: Aircraft Parts Exempt from Duty Under Central Excise Act, 1944, Effective March 7, 2007.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 19/2007-Central Excise, amending Notification No. 6/2006-Central Excise dated March 1, 2006. This amendment, effective March 7, 2007, modifies the entries in the table for S.No 54B. The new entry specifies that parts of aircraft under heading 8802, excluding rubber tires and tubes, are subject to a nil rate of duty. This change is made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, in the interest of public welfare.
