of <h1>India Exempts Bangladeshi Hand-woven Jamdani Sarees from Additional Customs Duty under Notification No. 27/95-Customs.</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 27/95-Customs, dated March 16, 1995, exempting Hand-woven Jamdani sarees imported from Bangladesh from additional customs duty under the Bangkok Agreement. This exemption applies to sarees classified under specific headings of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, provided the importer satisfies the Assistant or Deputy Commissioner of Customs that the goods meet the criteria set by the Customs Tariff (Determination of Origin of goods under the Bangkok Agreement) Rules, 1976. The Bangkok Agreement refers to a trade agreement among developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
