Government Amends FTP 2009-2014: New Eligibility Criteria for Deemed Export Benefits for Mega and Non-Mega Power Projects
The Central Government has amended Paragraph 8.4.4(iv) of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2009-2014, changing the eligibility criteria for deemed export benefits. For non-mega power projects, suppliers are now eligible only for benefits under Paragraph 8.3(a) of FTP, which includes Advance Authorization. The amendment specifies that for mega power projects, deemed export benefits are available if specific competitive bidding or capacity criteria are met. Additionally, supplies for setting up or expanding mega power projects that meet certain conditions will continue to be eligible for benefits under Paragraphs 8.3(a), (b), and (c) of FTP.
