of <h1>India Appoints Common Adjudicating Authority for Customs Case; Joint Commissioner to Handle DRI Show Cause Notice</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 27/2011-Customs (N.T.) appointing a Common Adjudicating Authority under the Customs Act, 1962. The Joint Commissioner or Additional Commissioner of Customs (Import) at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Maharashtra, is designated to adjudicate matters related to a Show Cause Notice issued to a company and others. This authority will exercise powers and discharge duties typically held by officials at New Custom House, Mumbai, and the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai, concerning the case initiated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Ahmedabad.
