<h1>India Revises Onion Export Policy: NAFED and State Agencies Authorized for Limited Exports with Conditions</h1> The Central Government has revised the onion export policy under the Foreign Trade Policy, 1997-2002. The amendment specifies that onion exports are canalized through designated agencies. The National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) is authorized to export 10,000 metric tons per month for three months. Additionally, agencies designated by the Governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat, or their associated shippers, are permitted to export 25,000 and 15,000 metric tons per month, respectively, for the same period. Exporters must adhere to conditions such as a Minimum Export Price and service charges not exceeding 3.50% of the invoiced value.
