Amendment to Customs Act: Partial Exemption for Specific Wood Types in Chapter 44, Effective November 12, 1986.
The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued an amendment to the previous notification No. 62/85-Customs. This amendment, effective from November 12, 1986, provides a partial exemption for certain types of wood under Chapter 44 of the Customs Tariff. The amendment modifies the previous notification by including wood classified under heading Nos. 44.03 or 44.07. Additionally, it introduces a new category in the schedule for wood that is sawn, chipped, sliced, or peeled, with a thickness exceeding 25.4 mm (1 inch), whether or not planed, sanded, or finger-jointed.
