of <h1>Customs Act Amendments: New Tariff Rates for Goods Under Notifications 227/76-Cus. and 88/87-Cus. Effective March 1988</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, has amended Notification No. 227/76-Cus. and No. 88/87-Cus., effective from March 1, 1988, in the public interest. For Notification No. 227/76-Cus., the entry against S. No. 5 in the table has been changed to '20% ad valorem.' For Notification No. 88/87-Cus., several amendments were made: the entry against S. No. 07 is now 'Rs. 2000/- per tonne,' a new S. No. 10 for goods under heading No. 39.19 is added at 'Rs. 100 per kilogram,' and S. No. 04 for polyvinyl chloride is revised with specified rates.
