<h1>Govt Amends Customs Notification to Allow Gold Scrap Conversion & Jewelry Sales at Delhi, Bombay Airports</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 262/87-Cus under the Customs Act, 1962, to address public interest concerns. Changes include modifying condition (viii) to accommodate condition (xiiia), allowing importers to send gold scrap, dust, or sweepings to the Government Mint for conversion into standard gold bars. Additionally, a new condition (xiiia) permits gem and jewelry manufactured in specified zones to be supplied to retail outlets or showrooms at international airports in Delhi and Bombay for sale to tourists departing India, following the Import and Export Policy and procedures set by the Collector of Customs.
