of <h1>Amendment to Customs Notification: Importers of Goods in Chapters 84, 85, 90 Must Be Jute Product Manufacturers</h1> Notification No. 7/91-Cus, dated January 16, 1991, amends Notification No. 1/91-Cus under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment specifies that importers of certain goods under Chapters 84, 85, or 90 must be actual industrial users engaged in jute product manufacturing. Importers must register with the Joint Commissioner and provide evidence at importation. They must also submit a certificate within three months confirming the installation of goods for jute manufacturing. Changes include modifications to descriptions of machinery in the notification's table, allowing more flexibility in the types of equipment included for modern carpet and composite felt making plants.
