of <h1>India Exempts Zirconium and Yttrium Oxide Imports for Cubic Zirconia Manufacturing from Certain Customs Duties</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 57/91-Cus, dated July 25, 1991, under the Customs Act, 1962, exempting zirconium oxide and yttrium oxide, classified under Chapter 28 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from certain customs duties. These materials, when imported for the manufacture of raw cubic zirconia, are exempt from the basic customs duty exceeding 35% ad valorem and the entire additional duty under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act. This exemption is deemed necessary in the public interest.
