of <h1>Government Exempts Raw Hides and Skins from Customs Duties under Notification No. 34/93-Cus for Public Interest</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 34/93-Cus dated February 28, 1993, to fully exempt raw hides and skins, whether fresh, salted, dried, pickled, or limed, including sheep skins in wool, from customs duties. This exemption applies to items classified under Chapter 41 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, when imported into India, as it is deemed necessary in the public interest.
