of <h1>Central Government Amends Notification 145/93-Cus for Import Exemptions on Silver and Gold for Jewellery Units</h1> Amendments have been made to seven notifications related to gem and jewellery under Notification No. 145/93-Cus, dated 28-6-1993, by the Central Government under the Customs Act, 1962. These amendments allow exemptions for silver and gold imports under specific headings of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, by the Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation of India Limited and the State Bank of India. These exemptions apply to supplies for gem and jewellery units in Export Processing Zones and Export Oriented Units, provided the specified customs procedures and conditions are adhered to by the jewellery units.
