of <h1>Govt exempts goods under sub-heading No. 9013.20 from customs duties over 55% ad valorem per Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 80/94-Cus dated March 1, 1994. This notification exempts goods classified under sub-heading No. 9013.20 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from customs duties exceeding 55% ad valorem when imported into India. This measure is taken in the public interest to regulate the effective rate of customs duty on these specified goods.
