of <h1>Amendment to Duty Rates: Gold at Rs. 220/10g, Silver at Rs. 500/kg Under Customs Act, 1962</h1> Notification No. 156/95-Cus, dated November 1, 1995, amends Notification No. 117/94-Cus concerning the effective rates of duty on gold and silver under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment revises the duty rates to Rs. 220 per 10 grams for gold in any form, including liquid gold, and Rs. 500 per kilogram for silver in any form. The terms 'gold in any form' and 'silver in any form' encompass medallions, coins, and jewelry made of gold or silver, excluding foreign currency coins and jewelry studded with stones or pearls.
