of <h1>Gold Import Limit Doubled: Passengers Can Now Bring in Up to 10 kg of Gold Under Amended Customs Rule</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 171/94-Customs, dated September 30, 1994, under the Customs Act, 1962, to increase the limit on gold, including ornaments, that passengers can import. The previous limit of five kilograms has been extended to ten kilograms. This amendment, effective from January 1, 1997, is deemed necessary in the public interest.
