Customs duty exemption for refined and raw sugar extended to cover the relevant tariff heading by notification amendment. The amendment inserts entry 7A in Notification No. 12/97-Cus to exempt refined sugar, including white crystal sugar, and raw sugar under the relevant tariff heading from special customs duty, made under powers conferred by the Customs Act and the Finance (No. 2) Act as necessary in the public interest.
