of <h1>Customs Act Amendment Expands Jurisdiction for Visakhapatnam and Kandla Ports, Airports, and Surrounding Zones</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 27/97-Customs (N.T.) under the Customs Act, 1962, appointing Commissioners and Deputy/Assistant Commissioners of Customs for specified areas. The amendment updates the designated areas for customs jurisdiction. For serial number 8, the jurisdiction now includes the port and airport of Visakhapatnam, the Visakhapatnam Export Processing Zone, and areas under the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation in Andhra Pradesh. For serial number 10, it includes the port and airport of Kandla, the Kandla Free Trade Zone, areas within an 8-kilometer radius of the zone, and areas under Gandhidham Municipality jurisdiction.
