of <h1>Central Government Updates Exchange Rates for Imports: USD at 42.70 INR, Euro at 49.30 INR Effective Feb 1, 1999.</h1> Notification No. 6/99-Cus. (N.T.), dated January 28, 1999, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 101/98-Cus. (N.T.) regarding exchange rates for imported goods. Under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and the Customs Act, 1962, it prescribes exchange rates for foreign currencies into Indian rupees effective February 1, 1999. Schedule I lists rates for individual foreign currency units, including the U.S. Dollar at 42.70 INR and the Euro at 49.30 INR. Schedule II specifies rates for 100 units of foreign currencies, such as the Japanese Yen at 37.60 INR.
