Excise Duty Waived on Cocoa Beans and Waste from Feb 28 to May 1, 2005, under Section 11C.
The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has waived the excise duty on cocoa beans, both whole and broken, raw or roasted, as well as cocoa shells, husks, skins, and other cocoa waste, for the period from February 28 to May 1, 2005. This decision was made under section 11C of the Central Excise Act, 1944, due to a prevalent practice of non-levy during this period. The waiver applies to items under Chapter 18 of the First Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985.
