of <h1>Green Tea Exempted from Excise Duty Under Rule 8 of Central Excise Rules, 1944, Effective March 1, 1988.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has issued Notification No. 25/88-C.E. dated March 1, 1988, exempting green tea from the entirety of excise duty. This exemption applies to green tea classified under sub-heading No. 0902.19 of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985.
