of <h1>Amendment to Notification No. 175/86-C.E. updates item codes under Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, effective July 7, 1988.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 175/86-C.E., dated March 1, 1986, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. This amendment, effective from July 7, 1988, modifies Item 4, sub-item (iii) in the annexure of the original notification. The amendment substitutes the figures '3702.20' with '3701.90, 3702.20, 3702.90, 3703.10'. This change is made under the authority of Section 5A of the Act, reflecting the government's decision that such amendments are necessary in the public interest.
