of <h1>Amendment to Excise Notification: New Description for Materials Under Section 5A of Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of Section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has amended Notification No. 202/88-Central Excises dated May 20, 1988. This amendment, detailed in Notification No. 170/89-C.E. dated August 16, 1989, modifies the description in the table annexed to the original notification. Specifically, for S. No. 02, the description is changed to include materials 'not further worked than hot rolled, hot drawn or hot extruded, but including those twisted after rolling.' This change is made in the interest of the public.
