of <h1>Government Amends Excise Notification: Screen Size Specifications Updated for Items 17 and 18 Under Central Excises Act 1944.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 87/89-C.E., dated March 1, 1989, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. The amendment, effective from October 3, 1989, modifies the specifications for screen sizes in the notification's table. For S. No. 17, the screen size range is changed to 'exceeding 15 centimetres but not exceeding 36 centimetres.' For S. No. 18, the range is revised to 'exceeding 36 centimetres but not exceeding 55 centimetres.' These changes are made in the public interest under the authority granted by the Act.
