of <h1>Excise Tariff Update: Sodium Hydroxide Now Rs. 1,300 Per Tonne, Excluding Aqueous Medium Weight, Effective November 1, 1990.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has amended Notification No. 22/90-Central Excises, initially issued on March 20, 1990. The amendment, effective from November 1, 1990, pertains to the excise tariff on chemicals. Specifically, the entry for Serial No. 3 in the notification's annexed table has been revised. The new tariff imposes a rate of Rs. 1,300 per tonne based on the weight of sodium hydroxide, excluding the weight of the aqueous medium, contained in the aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide.
