of <h1>Deputy Collector of Customs at Kandla appointed as Central Excise Officer with Additional Collector powers under Notification No. 4/88-C.E. (N.T.)</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has appointed the Deputy Collector of Customs at Kandla as a Central Excise Officer, effective from January 28, 1988, under Notification No. 4/88-C.E. (N.T.). This appointment grants the Deputy Collector all the powers of an Additional Collector of Central Excise as per the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, and the Central Excise Rules, 1944. These powers are to be exercised within the Kandla Free Trade Zone, as defined in the Central Excise Rules.
