Zero-duty re-import facility gets a one-time extension for eligible diamond exporters facing transit delays.
A one-time relaxation amends paragraph 4.43 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 for the gems and jewellery sector, preserving the zero-duty re-import facility for eligible exporters of cut and polished diamonds and authorised laboratories. For shipments whose re-import period expires between 1 March 2026 and 31 May 2026, the period is automatically extended by 30 days from expiry, effectively giving the covered exporters four months to re-import the goods.
