of <h1>Uttaranchal Board of Technical Education gains tax exemption u/s 10(46) for specified incomes, effective AY 2023-24.</h1> The Central Government has issued a notification under Section 10(46) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, exempting specified income of the Uttaranchal Board of Technical Education, Roorkee, from taxation. The exempt income includes grants, fees, fines, sale receipts, rent, royalties, and interest. The exemption is contingent upon the Board not engaging in commercial activities, maintaining the nature of its income, and filing income returns as specified. This notification applies retrospectively for the Assessment Year 2023-24, relevant to the Financial Year 2022-23, and does not adversely affect any individual.
