of <h1>New SEZ for Hardware and Software in Tamil Nadu Recognized as Inland Container Depot under Customs Act 1962.</h1> The Central Government has designated October 16, 2008, as the effective date for a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for hardware and software at Navallur Village, Chengulpet Taluk, and Semmencherry Village, Tambaram Taluk, in Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu. This SEZ, developed by a private company, will be recognized as an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act, 1962. This action is taken under the authority of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
