of <h1>CBEC Amends Tariff Values: Brass Scrap at $3,904/MT, Poppy Seeds at $6,292/MT Under Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Cus (N.T.) dated August 3, 2001, concerning tariff values under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment, issued on October 16, 2008, revises the table of tariff values for certain goods. While the tariff values for crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, other palm oil, crude palmolein, RBD palmolein, other palmolein, and crude soybean oil remain unchanged, the tariff value for brass scrap is set at $3,904 per metric tonne, and poppy seeds are valued at $6,292 per metric tonne.
