of <h1>Kerala Amends SGST Notification: Tax Rate on Petroleum and Methane Operations Raised to 6% Effective July 2022.</h1> The Government of Kerala has amended its notification G.O.(P) No.64/2017/TAXES, dated 30th June 2017, concerning the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST). Effective from 18th July 2022, the amendment changes the tax rate in the notification's table from an excess of two and a half percent to six percent on specified petroleum and coal bed methane operations. This decision follows recommendations from the GST Council and aims to adjust the tax exemption on supplies related to petroleum operations under various contracts and policies.
