<h1>Punjab Extends GST Annual Return Filing Deadline to January 31, 2020, for FY 2017-18 u/s 44.</h1> The Punjab Government issued an order under the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, addressing difficulties faced by taxpayers in electronically filing annual returns for the financial year from July 1, 2017, to March 31, 2018. The order extends the deadline for filing these returns from December 31, 2019, to January 31, 2020. This measure, effective from December 26, 2019, aims to alleviate technical challenges encountered by registered persons in complying with section 44 of the Act. The order was enacted based on recommendations from the Council and authorized by the Financial Commissioner (Taxation) of Punjab.
