of <h1>Punjab exempts non-citizens from Aadhaar authentication under GST Act; effective April 1, 2020.</h1> The Government of Punjab, under the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has issued a notification exempting certain individuals from Aadhaar authentication requirements. This exemption applies to non-citizens of India and excludes specific classes of persons, namely individuals, authorized signatories, managing and authorized partners, and the Karta of a Hindu undivided family. The notification, effective from April 1, 2020, is issued by the Department of Excise and Taxation, under the authority of the Governor of Punjab and based on the Council's recommendations.
