of <h1>Govt exempts specified defence goods and parts from customs and integrated tax for defence entities with Joint Secretary certification</h1> The government exempts specified defence-related goods and parts, listed by tariff headings, from customs and integrated tax when imported into India by the defence ministry, defence forces, defence PSUs or other public entities, subject to a Joint Secretary-level certification of quantity, specifications and exclusive defence use and submission of that certificate at import. The notification enumerates covered items (aircraft, helicopters, engines, propulsion, missiles, weapons, vessels, sensors, simulators, parts, spares and related equipment) and is time-limited, terminated 1 July 2029 and noted as superseded by a later notification effective 1 November 2025.
