of <h1>Kerala Reduces State GST on Handicrafts to 1.5%-6% Following GST Council's Recommendations to Boost Cultural Goods.</h1> The Government of Kerala has issued a notification to implement a reduced Kerala State Goods and Services Tax (KSGST) rate on specified handicraft items, following the GST Council's recommendations from its 28th meeting on July 21, 2018. Effective July 27, 2018, the notification exempts intra-state supplies of certain handicraft goods from the standard state tax rate, applying concessional rates ranging from 1.5% to 6% depending on the item. The aim is to promote handicraft goods, defined as items predominantly made by hand with artistic or cultural significance, differing from mechanically produced goods.
