of <h1>Punjab Amends GST Act: Tax Exemptions for FIFA U-17, Transit Cargo, and Govt Services Funded by Grants.</h1> The Government of Punjab has amended Notification No. S.O.37/P.A.5/2017/S.11/2017 under the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Effective from various dates in 2017, new entries have been added, including tax exemptions for services related to the FIFA U-17 World Cup, transit cargo services to Nepal and Bhutan, and services by government entities funded by grants. Fair Price Shops providing services to governments under the Public Distribution System are also exempt. Modifications include updates to crop insurance schemes and recognizing Limited Liability Partnerships as firms.
