of <h1>India Prohibits Import of Hazardous Waste per Updated Para 8(B) in Foreign Trade Policy, Aligns with 2016 Rules.</h1> The Central Government of India has updated Para 8 (B) of the General Notes Regarding Import Policy of ITC (HS), 2012, Schedule-I, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020. This update aligns with the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. As a result, the import of hazardous waste, including substances containing or contaminated with such waste as specified in Schedule VI of the 2016 Rules, is prohibited. This change follows Notification GSR No.395 (E) dated April 4, 2016, by the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change.
