Customs airport designation expands unloading authority to specified airports for imported aircraft parts and materials. Under the power conferred by clause (a) of section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, the Central Government designates Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam airports as Customs airports for the unloading of imported aircraft parts, accessories and materials required for the manufacture of aircraft.
