of <h1>Defence Civilians Welfare Fund Gains Tax Exemption for 1989-90 Under Section 10(23C) of Income-tax Act</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. S.O.1216 dated 27-11-1989, under the powers granted by sub-clause (iv) of clause (23C) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This notification recognizes the 'Defence Civilians Welfare (TB, Cancer and Leprosy) Fund, New Delhi' as eligible for the tax exemption specified under this section for the assessment year 1989-90.
