of <h1>India's SEZs Recognized as Inland Container Depots from Oct 23, 2007, Under Customs Act</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, has designated October 23, 2007, as the date from which specified Special Economic Zones (SEZs) will be recognized as Inland Container Depots under the Customs Act, 1962. This notification applies to various SEZs across India, including those in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and other states. These SEZs are developed by various companies and cover sectors such as multi-product, electronics, pharmaceuticals, information technology, biotechnology, footwear, textiles, and more.
