This appointment is made under the Customs Act, 1962, to adjudicate matters related to a show cause notice issued to a company based in New Delhi. The authority will also oversee duties typically handled by the Assistant Commissioners at both the New Custom House, New Delhi, and the Air Cargo Complex in Bangalore. This decision is documented in Notification No. 21/2014-Customs (N.T.) dated March 7, 2014.
