      Rate of exchange of conversion of each of the foreign currency with effect from October 18, 2013
      Summary: The Central Board of Excise and Customs determines, by administrative notification under the Customs Act, the rate of exchange for specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for purposes relating to imported and export goods, effective 18 October 2013, superseding the prior notification and implemented through two schedules listing separate rates for import and export valuation.

      Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident outside India) (Sixteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2013
      Summary: The Regulations insert a definition of Group company into Regulation 2, defining it as two or more enterprises which, directly or indirectly, can either (i) exercise twenty-six per cent or more of voting rights in the other enterprise, or (ii) appoint more than fifty per cent of members of the board of directors of the other enterprise; and state the Regulations are deemed to have come into force from June 3, 2013 with a clarification that no person will be adversely affected by the retrospective effect.

      Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident outside India) (Fourteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2013
      Summary: The Reserve Bank of India amends the principal Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident outside India) Regulations by deleting clause (a) of Regulation 10A(b)(v); the Fourteenth Amendment, 2013 takes effect on publication in the Official Gazette under powers conferred by the Foreign Exchange Management Act.

      Summary: The DGFT amendment requires 2D (GS1 Data Matrix) barcodes on medicines at strip, vial or bottle (primary pack) level encoding GTIN, Batch Number, Expiry Date and Serial Number, and clarifies that mono cartons containing strips, vials or bottles are to be treated as part of primary packaging for export consignments of pharmaceuticals and drugs.
