Summary: Preliminary April 2022 merchandise trade data show exports at USD 38.19 billion and imports at USD 58.26 billion, with a wider year on year trade deficit. Major export growth is led by petroleum products, electronic goods and chemicals, while imports are concentrated in petroleum (crude and products), electronic goods, coal and chemicals; non petroleum and non gems and jewellery aggregates are reported to display underlying export strength.
Summary: Annual Aggregate Turnover (AATO) visibility has been enabled on taxpayer dashboards, showing prior-year AATO and current-year aggregate based on filed returns. Taxpayers may update turnover discrepancies via the dashboard twice during May; thereafter figures are referred to the Jurisdictional Tax Officer for verification and possible amendment. Turnover updates apply across all GSTINs on a common PAN, with changes by any GSTIN summed into each GSTIN's AATO.
