Summary: The Point of Taxation framework fixes the tax point at the invoice date under Rule 4(a)(ii) when a service and its invoice predate a change in the effective rate, so services rendered and invoiced before the rate increase remain taxable at the earlier rate even if payment is received later; Board circulars treating payment date as decisive for certain services are inconsistent with the Finance Act and the POT Rules and cannot govern tax liability.

Summary: The Minister invited German investment and technology into India's food processing sector, noting liberalisation permitting foreign participation via the automatic route for agri-products, milk and milk products, and marine and meat products, and proposed German collaboration on food parks. He identified export opportunities in commodities including bananas, soybean cake, cashew nuts, coconuts, cotton, maize and wheat flour, potatoes, fresh and processed vegetables, and expressed interest in exporting skimmed milk powder to Germany/EU.

Summary: The Finance Minister urged Customs and Central Excise officers to use technological advances to implement a non-intrusive tax administration and foster a non-adversarial tax environment, while meeting indirect tax collection targets; he stressed balancing trade facilitation with effective enforcement, and called for probity, fairness, and timely action by departmental officers.
Summary: The Government announced re-issue of central government stocks by price-based auction using the multiple price method, allowing both competitive and Non-Competitive Bidding Facility participation with up to five percent reserved for eligible individuals and institutions; bids must be submitted electronically on the RBI E-Kuber system within prescribed time windows, with results and payment following the published timetable, and the stocks made eligible for When Issued trading under RBI guidelines.
Summary: A multinational coffee company confirmed long-term procurement under a sourcing and roasting agreement with a domestic partner, committing to engage local growers and suppliers. Summary: The standard requires Selling and Distribution Overheads to be measured as the aggregate cost of resources consumed in selling and distribution activities, valued at invoice or agreed price net of recoverable taxes and discounts, excluding imputed and abnormal costs. Allocation shall assign directly traceable overheads to cost objects, apply CAS 5 for transportation where relevant, and use either cause and effect or benefits received principles for apportionment.
