<h1>Searches over alleged illegal sand transport and royalty evasion from Madhya Pradesh linked to money-laundering probe under PMLA</h1> ED initiated search operations under the PMLA at residential and business premises of traders and businessmen in Nagpur district in connection with a 2022 police case alleging illegal sand transportation and evasion of government royalty on sand brought from Madhya Pradesh. The searches were conducted simultaneously at multiple locations as part of a money-laundering investigation linked to the alleged proceeds from the illegal sand trade, enabling the agency to secure evidence and identify and trace suspected proceeds of crime arising from the predicate offences.
