Pakistan and Indonesia Sign Seven MoUs to Boost Trade, Education, Halal Certification, Health and SME Cooperation
Pakistan and Indonesia concluded seven memoranda of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation during an official visit by the Indonesian head of state to Islamabad. The MoUs cover higher education, Indonesian state scholarships, support for small and medium enterprises, cooperation between national archives, narcotics control and combating illicit drug trafficking, Halal trade and certification, and health. Both sides agreed to promote bilateral trade beyond the current palm oil-dominated USD 4.5 billion, aiming to rebalance it through Pakistani agricultural exports and IT services. The leaders emphasized longstanding diplomatic ties, shared moderate Islamic values, coordinated foreign policy positions including support for a two-state solution for Palestine, and agreed on reciprocal high-level visits.
